Two Long-tailed Ducks were at Coonagh today.

A female Long-tailed Duck and nine Whooper Swans were at Coonagh today. The Long-tailed Duck is a first for the site. A Whinchat also seen there today, is a second site record (Geoff Hunt).

45 Bonxies, 25 Arctic Skuas, 19 Pomerine Skuas, a blue phase Fulmar, two Grey Phalaropes, 30 Sooty Shearwaters, 24 Manx Sherawaters, two Storm Petrels, ten Great Northern Divers, a Red-brested Merganser and a Brent Goose flew past the Bridgres of Ross today.
A Chiffchaff was seen in Kilbaha.

A Blackcap, three Chiffchaffs, 12 Siskins, ten Chaffinches, four Greenfinches, two Goldcrests, a Goldfinch and a Sparrowhawk were at Kilbaha today.
Two Wheatears, a Merlin, two Snipe and 180 Golden Plover were at Loop Head.

Recently arrived Whooper Swans at Coonagh ©Tom Tarpey
Two Whooper Swans were Coonagh today. Other notable counts there were 47 Mute Swans, 106 Coot, five Little Egrets, 15 Lapwing, 20 Wigeon and eight Gadwall.
Two Whooper Swans were also seen at the Mill Road, Corbally.
48 Wigeon, 15 Teal and 10 Shoveler were at Lough Gur.

A juvenile colour-ringed Black-headed Gull, White TN6L, was seen at Clancy’s Strand today. The bird was ringed as nestling in a small village called Januszkowice in Opole County in south western Poland on May 29th last. This young gull has moved a distance of 1856km in the 130 days since it was ringed.
