A Common Sandpiper and two Redshank were at O’Callaghan’s Strand. A colour-ringed 1st winter Black-headed Gull (Blue K183) from Belarus was also present (TT). The bird was ringed as a nestling on 20/6/2019 at the Smolevichi Reservoir, just east of Minsk and has travelled 2413km west to get to Limerick. It is the first record of a colour-ringed Black-headed Gull from Belarus in Ireland.

Merlin on the Bog Road, Loop Head John N Murphy
At Tullagher Bog today there were 12 Pink-footed Geese, 15 White-fronted Geese and 22 Whooper Swans. (John N Murphy & Elaine Keegan)
At Loop Head there was one Merlin and a Great Northern Diver. (JNM)

There were two very late Swallows at Ballyallia Lske this evening. (John N Murphy)
At the Shannon Airport Lagoon there was one male Merlin and 58 Gadwall. (JNM)
