A Jay was seen outside normal range near Ballingarry today (Andrew Holmes). This may be part of an unusual migration movement of the species this autumn as birds have also been recorded at headlands/migration watch points on the west and south coasts in recent days.
Buzzards were seen at number locations inc. three near Ballingarry (Paddy Dunworth),two near Feenagh(AH) and one at Rosbrien(TT)
A dead Barn Owl was found on the N20 north of Croom (AH).

Adult American Golden Plover flying with Golden Plover at the Fodry, Loop Head John N Murphy
Highlights from Loop Head today were; the Red-breasted Flycatcher was back in Kilbaha along with one Yellow-browed Warbler, one Garden Warbler, one Turtle Dove, six Chiffchaff, one American Golden Plover, one Buff-breasted Sandpiper, eight Buzzards, one Hen Harrier, one Jay, one Merlin, one Peregrine, one Jack Snipe and one Wheatear. A Yellow-browed Warbler and two Blackcap were along the track to the shore at the Rine.(Paul Troake)
A drake Surf Scoter, six Black-throated Diver, a Storm Petrel, 14 Common Scoter, 34 Little Egrets, and 80 Great Northern Diver were at the Rine.(PT)

Buff-breasted Sandpiper at the Horse Fields, Ross, Loop Head John N Murphy
At Loop Head today the Red-breasted Flycatcher was still in Seni Costello’s Garden with the Turtle Dove who was travelling up and down the road in Kilbaha. At the Fodry the Buff
-breasted Sandpiper was seen flying around the headland within the flock of 160 Golden Plover. One Seallow was in the grounds of Loop Head Lighthouse with three Wheatear on the headland and one Bonxie and an Arctic Skua seen out on the sea. at the Bridges of Ross there was one Bonxie, one Leach’s Petrel and one Storm Petrel. At Loop Head today the Red-breasted Flycatcher was still in Seni Costelloe’s garden, while elsewhere on the headland the Buff-breasted Sandpiper was on the north shore of Ross Bay, four Chiffchaff and a Willow Warbler were in the gardens, with one Pomarine Skua, one Bonxie, three Leach’s Petrels and 18 Storm Petrels were off the pier in Kilbaha Harnour. At Loop Head today there was one first-winter Red-breasted Flycatcher, one Yellow-browed Warbler, one Turtle Dove, one Siberian Chiffchaff, four Chiffchaff, the adult American Golden Plover,the immature Buff-breasted Sandpiper, two Wheatears and a Peregrine. This juvenile Turtle Dove was in Kilbaha with Collared Doves John N Murphy
