Adult winter Sabine’s Gull on sea near Cloghaun Lough John N Murphy

Highlights at the annual BWI Outing to Loop Head today there were; one adult American Golden Plover, one Buff-breasted Sandpiper, one adult Sabine’s Gulls, one first-winter Mediterranean Gull, one Pomarine Skua, one Arctic Skua, four Merlin, two Peregrine and two Chiffchaff. Immature Merlin at the Fodry, Loop Head John N Murphy

The adult American Golden Plover, two Buff-breasted Sandpipers, one Pectoral Sandpiper and 80 Golden Plover were in the Plover fields at Loop Head early this morning. (John N Murphy)
Also on the Loop Head Peninsula today were one immature Hen Harrier, one Buzzard, one immature Merlin, four Sparrowhawks, three Wheatear, 15 Swallow, one Willow Warbler, one Chiffchaff and over 140 Skylark. (JNM)
